I'm just wondering if one could use a blog to "advertise" new titles at the library. It would be quite a lengthy list, though. Hmm...does anyone else do this?
Our director uses her blog on our college intranet to announce new resources. Before she'd send out emails to all faculty and staff but now thinks this might be a better approach.
It really just depends on how your patrons are comfortable with getting information.
I think a lot of libraries with blogs do some version of this. You wouldn't have to highlight ALL new books - just a few that you think might draw people into the library. Or highlight books or other items in your collection that have some tie-in to current events - anything to raise public awareness about what is available to them through your library.
